Meet Faro

Faro is located in the Southern coast of Portugal, in a 210 km2 area with 65 000 inhabitants. The city is set in the heart of Ria Formosa Natural Park, bordered on the South by a dune of 19 km in length, which is interrupted by openings that connect the Sea to the Ria.

Faro is a millenary city to be (re)discovered. Of pre-roman origin, called Ossonoba, it was one of the most important urban centers in the South of the Iberian Peninsula, due to the major fishing port and salt industry.

Today the Algarve’s most well known city and district capital, Faro, has important infrastructures and public services of the region, such as the Airport and the University of Algarve that every year receives around 500 international students.

Faro has plenty cultural offers and sport activities also that allied with the amazing beaches and sunny weather will provide you one of the greatest experiences ever.
